Got tissues? A peek inside my tissue haven.

So, in the last post, I poked fun at my photo taken over twenty years ago about needing three things next to me at all times—water, tissues, and lip balm. But I wasn’t kidding. Living with a chronic pulmonary and sinus condition means tissues are a constant necessity. Whether I’m out for a quick walk in the backyard with our pets, going on a short ride with Eric, or even going to a restaurant or an antique store, you can safely bet I’ll need tissues.

Living with a chronic pulmonary and sinus condition means tissues are a constant necessity. If I don’t have pockets in my clothes, which is often in women’s wear, then I wear a tiny cross-body bag to hold them in. When I learned to belly dance many moons ago I had to be inventive on how to keep the tissues in my clothing and not falling out.

I vividly recall a time when I ventured out on a trail in Maine with my old dog Oliver, completely forgetting my trusty tissues. I believe I was more concerned with packing a small travel bowl and water. However, nature provided an unconventional solution—dry leaves from the fall foliage. Despite my best efforts to be gentle because they were not green and flexible, I returned home to find my nose and surrounding areas adorned with tons of little scratches and irritated redness from the dried-out leaves—a not-so-gentle reminder of the importance of always having tissues on hand.

As you can imagine, I have boxes of tissues all over the house. Let me take you on a quick tour of all the spots where I stash them (I’ll leave out all the many jacket and coat pockets I leave them in!) with my eventual intention of this post to show off Eric’s latest creation he made for one of my boxes of tissues.

From the drawer in my nightstand to the desk draw right next to me, tissues are never far from reach...

Mini travel packs are a staple in my purse, clutch, handbag, tote bag, backpack, lunch bag, makeup bag, shopping bag, camera bag… basically any bag I own. You will most likely find tissues in them.

But it doesn’t end there—a small box in the old van we rarely drive sits in the center console to the side storage on the passenger’s side of Eric’s truck...

I even have tissues in the dining room hidden in a cabinet behind glass I painted to look like an old mercury mirror transparent effect to semi-hide the contents.

Now to the best tissue box ever! But first, I will show off Eric’s Tissue Tote he made me to hold a small box of tissues and dividers to hold my glasses, pens, remote, etc. after I stole his large-sized Tool Tote.

The “Legacy Tissue Tote” by Eric Jon Taylor

That tote is on the coffee table but I needed one by my sofa chair. (Are you figuring out that I don’t like to look at tissue boxes? lol)

Ta-dah! Eric crafted this stunning creation for me and my tissues—a brand new basket that has yet to be unveiled to anyone, not even a single student or his FB favs. Well, until now.

I'm absolutely loving it despite it being his first prototype! Not sure of what he will be naming this new basket. Any ideas? Leave a comment!
